Principles
Five rules the map keeps
- Gaps are shown, not hidden. A “Not yet documented” item is a to-do, visible to everyone.
- Status describes evidence, never the answer. A documented No is as valuable as a documented Yes.
- Completeness is not quality. It says what we know, not how well a country prevents disease.
- Nothing pretends to be newer than its documents. Every item carries its source year and the date it was last checked.
- Judgement waits for validation. A performance index appears only after it is developed and validated as a research project of its own.
Explore first. Contribute what you know. Verify what you can document.
Why a living map
Previous studies described one subject. This maps the whole of prevention.
Earlier work described what is taught in a single subject area across schools. This project maps the whole of preventive dentistry education and connects it to national policy, and is built to stay alive: documented, versioned by academic year, and verified by the people responsible for the curricula and policies it describes.
